Re: EAA Air Venture Oshkosh 2023

I think EAA's reluctance to accept military demo teams is due to the size of the acrobatic "box" required. The Blue Angles apparently pursued this a few years ago and it was determined that residents in certain homes around the airport would need to vacate during the airshow. I don't know ...

Re: EAA Air Venture Oshkosh 2023

I greatly appreciate the information that's been posted to date; it doesn't seem (to me) that EAA's website provides as much information as in the past. Maybe I'm navigating poorly, but does the EAA website even mention the Super Guppy? And, if you gouge is correct, I need to be in OSH on or before ...

Re: Quad City Airshow 2023

I am thinking about attending this airshow despite my misgivings about the blatantly out-of-date list of statics. I'm surprised that they haven't listed an F-4 along with the EA-6B shown as an attendee. That jab aside, I'm wondering if someone with recent experience with this show can provide some i...

Re: Sentry Eagle Exercise & Open House 2022

How are opportunities for photographing outside the base during the exercise?

Based upon what I've gleaned form the internet, results should be good. Anybody with experience able to offer suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Re: 2022 TBM Avenger Reunion & Salute to Veterans - Peru, IL

Well Matt, I tried hard to go as well. Unfortunately, I got tasked to revise a work project (due to new information) and there just isn't time left after a conference call, multiple e-mails, and a revised draft. I was also going to try out a new (previously owner) camera. I am exhausted and frustrat...

Re: 2022 TBM Avenger Reunion & Salute to Veterans - Peru, IL

Last night's projections were for storms late Friday night (i.e., after sunset). What happens (on not) on Friday is also dependent, in part, on today. The weather today is pretty good. Do you know if aircraft are arriving today or what will be on the field tomorrow? Tomorrow is my only opportunity (...

Re: Planes Of Fame Airshow 2022 [CANCELLED]

I am shocked to hear this. The event seems to have vanished from the POF website without announcement or notification. Does anyone know why? COVID comes to mind but I had hope we could move forward given vacines and boosters coupled with the fact that this is an outdoor even scheduled for October. W...

Re: Red Flags in 2022

Nice photos from the inside!

So things generally don't launch until noon? And recoveries start around 4:00? Why not start earlier?
