Re: Gdynia AeroBaltic 2019

This is what I've been keeping back... It was an enormous privilege to be able to assist in the operation a drone for the duration of Gdynia AeroBaltic on behalf of the airshow organisers and the Aerosparx Display Team. We were able to operate mere feet from the likes of the Ukrainian Flanker and th...

Re: Festa al Cel 2019

Don't forget the other great acts that will be there, such as the USAF C-130 demo, and of course the Aerosparx Display Team, who will be returning to Festa al Cel for the first time since 2015. It will be our first and biggest display in Spain of 2019! As well as day shows on Saturday and Sunday, we...

Nine injured as "Halcones" GameBird crashes in residential area

Chile's military aerobatic team, the Halcones, suffered a setback yesterday when one of their new GameBird GB1s crashed during a training flight in Santiago. The team are currently in the process of transitioning from the Extra 300L to the GB1, with seven aircraft being delivered to the Chilean Air ...

Re: All-New Major Airshow To Debut Next Year

I'm really looking forward to attending this one. There are some great trade-based airshows in the Middle East, but this will be one of the first major international airshows aimed squarely at the general public - I'm interested to see what they can achieve. There's potential for a nice mix of Middl...

The Blades to "go global" & upgrade to GameBird GB1

Now, if you're in North America, bear with me - this is kind of relevant on your side of the Atlantic, too. Here in the UK we have an aerobatic team called The Blades, formed mostly of ex-Red Arrows pilots, flying four Extra 300LPs. In terms of their status over here, they're kind of like the Britis...

Re: How Many Airshows Are You Attending In 2019?

Well my season isn't turning out anything like how I expected, but I'm pretty chuffed with the final list. 10 good sized events in 5 countries and a nice variation, from big international military shows to trade-themed expos and intimate warbird shows, and everything in between. Already planning on ...

Re: RAF Red Arrows announce 2019 North American Tour

In case anyone is curious, these are the tweaks that the Red Arrows have made to their routine in the USA. In Gatineau, they appeared to fly their standard routine as they would in the UK. Tornado is usually flown directed at crowd centre before then turning left through 90 degrees and continuing fo...

Former Patrulla Aguila pilot killed in crash

Sad news from Spain this morning, where Cmdte. Paco Marin, who was a pilot with the Patrulla Aguila until last year, has died in an accident. La Informacion reported that he was conducting a familiarisation flight after his summer holiday when the accident occurred. http://thisisflight.net/2019/08/2...
