Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2023

Apologies Viper - I had 16 in mind (the why is obvious); definitely too bad that the F-16s have cancelled but Abby has had some bad luck the past few years with late cancellations. I'm definitely going to try to get out on Wednesday now with the highlight arrivals that day - I'm old school (I starte...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2023

Agreed! Thanks AirshowHawk for the information. A little disappointed I'm not likely able to be out there on Wednesday for the demo team arrivals, but hopefully some of them will go up on Thursday for practice - again, will appreciate any updates those of you in the know (bingofuel, AirshowHawk, etc...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2022

First and foremost: thankfully, it sounds like the Snowbirds pilot was not injured, as the plane "suffered damage" during takeoff (according to a story on Global BC). The article also stated the plane was joining the team already in Penticton; if it wasn't one of the "performance"...

Re: 2021 Abbotsford International Airshow

This is the best place I can think to post this: anyone else in the Vancouver area spot the Snowbirds flying in formation with a CF-18 this afternoon? I was driving home when I heard a very familiar noise, and they flew right overhead while I was crossing the Burrard Bridge. Just curious who else ma...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2019

Well, our big hope is obviously for a visit from the touring Red Arrows. Hopefully not just wishful thinking, but three teams would certainly make up for the lack of an acc demo!!

Re: RAF Red Arrows announce 2019 North American Tour

I was very excited to read this, but now must hope the suggestions of a mid-August start on the east coast turn out to be wrong. Would really love to see the Red Arrows perform in Abbotsford. They are definitely the most noteworthy team that I've not seen perform since Abby '86 allowed me to see Pat...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2018

Reflections on the Friday show: Entering: call it good fortune/good timing/planning, but we had little to no problems with entering the show, even in time to see some of the statics. I would still recommend a 2 pm gates to provide more time to wander the statics, talk to the ever-friendly and welcom...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2018

It was a Blue Angel Okay, that makes sense. Too bad the whole team didn't do an English Bay/Kits flyby. That would've been cool. I knew they would do a flyby of the city but I thought it would've been the whole team. I'm wondering now if it was a media flight - a lucky journalist getting to go for ...

If so, should be landing in Abby right about now.
