Re: Sky Drive 2022 (presented by Airshow London)

Awesome news! So glad the drive-in is here to stay! My dad is very mobility challenged, but we've been coming to the airshow since he first took me when I was 4, and that was in 1981! It's a tradition, and having the Skydrive format makes it possible for him to enjoy the show with not only me, but h...

Re: Sky Drive 2022 (presented by Airshow London)

Great show as always! Got there in good time on Saturday, got a front row spot. Lots of great static and flying action. Having a legit RC-135 (not just the trainer) was awesome, too. Despite the awesomeness of the Raptor and the Thunderbirds, I agree that the winner on Saturday were the F-15s. Those...

Re: Sky Drive 2022 (presented by Airshow London)

I just got that too!

Like they kinda read my mind. However, the website still says 11:00.

They really need to make sure their information matches up, it's confusing as heck, and you don't know which one to trust.

I'll trust the email, though!

Re: Sky Drive 2022 (presented by Airshow London)

Looks awesome, but why are the gates open so late? Now that there's a static, I'd think we'd want more than 2 hours to get in, get parked/setup, and then go to see the static, visit vendors and have lunch. In the old LIAS days, it seems to me that the gates opened at 8:00 or 9:00, and I was at least...

Re: Sky Drive 2022 (presented by Airshow London)

Oh man, that's awesome about the B-2! I remember seeing that the first time it came around, I think it was the 1995 show. What really sucks, is that I have tickets for Saturday; bought them the first day they were announced. So, I guess I guessed wrong on that one. Won't lie, I'm disappointed I won'...

Re: Sky Drive 2022 (presented by Airshow London)

I'm surprised the T-33 and MiG aren't on the website yet; just looking at the website there's been no movement there for a while. I know it's a ways away yet, but anybody looking there, but not here, is going to see there's not much listed yet. I'm amazed NTPS and/or JAM don't fly more stuff there. ...

Re: Airshow London 2022

Here's hoping they find a way to combine the drive-in format with a static display! Best of both worlds! Regardless, I'm sure the show will be awesome like the past years' demonstrations! Waiting with baited breath for tickets to come on sale... (that's supposed to be eyes bugging from holdi...

Re: Sky Drive 2021 (presented by Airshow London)

I went on Saturday, and yeah, it was hot as heck, but hey, it's an airshow. I think it was even hotter Sunday! I miss the static display and arrivals/departures too, but I will admit that the view from the taxiway is awesome, and the drive-in format is amazing. My dad is mobility challenged so being...

Re: Sky Drive 2021 (presented by Airshow London)

I will admit, I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of Fast Jets as well. I mean, I know last year was a special case, but losing the F-15 and F-16 is a real kick in the backside for the Saturday folks. It was bad enough we didn't get the Growlers or the B-1, but now it's kinda weak on Saturday. It's a...
