I don't really see the showing being changed to Sunday. The weather does look kind of bad on Saturday, and I'm concerned the parking lot might be a mess.

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder

This was my fourth year in a row going to this show. This year, the weather certainly did play a factor. I went with some friends of mine and we only went on Saturday. My shoes, pants, and coat, got pretty wet. Though nothing like Fort Wayne in 2016. I need to consider buying some cheap shoes, in ca...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder

The 747 fly by was pretty cool, looked like they were a little low. I couldn't really tell because I was looking through my viewfinder. My friends around me all gasped.

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder

The Thunderbirds are performing in Atlantic City today, so I would expect they should arrive sometime tomorrow. There are several TFR setup tomorrow through Sunday at the airport. There is a TFR tomorrow (Thursday) from 11:50am to 1:00pm

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder

I think the planes are still going to use the taxiways they used before. The static airplanes should still be parked the same area. The only thing I think that shifted is the layout of the show. I would expect the crowd will be the standard 1000 feet away from show center, but I could be wrong. The ...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder

This new layout could be good if the Blue Angels return because they do the half squirrel cage on takeoff, along with the solo maneuvers, instead of the head on pass.

I was just at the Chicago Air and Water show and the Thunderbirds use the same frequencies that were listed on radio reference.

Re: Chicago Air and Water show 2018

The air show starts at 10:00am. I think the water portion might start earlier. I'm not sure what the water show consists of. During the practice day, they had a fire boat that used the hoses to spray water.

Re: Chicago Air and Water show 2018

I went to the Gary Airport today, they were setting up barricades and trying to prevent people from parking near the new Gary Jet Center hanger. I talked to one of the employees and they will be charging for parking there this weekend. I don't think it is worth it to pay $10, and have obstructed vie...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder

I'm going to this show with some friends of mine, we are going to be there Thursday night. We might try and watch some of the arrivals, but don't know of any good places to watch.
