Please, let’s not start this again.Chuter wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 3:57 pmStill seems smaller compared to Airshow London. For no limitations on statics from the USAF, I'm expecting a couple more assets from them... It'd be a bit disappointing to not see moreJA Boomer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 3:49 pmVery cool! I think there's going to be 4 firsts on static for me: MC-130J, HC-144, CH-148, and MQ-9.AirshowHawk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 7:15 am You might not see the Canadian version yet but the US Coast Guard will be bringing their version of it for static as LAXSPOTTER97 mentioned. This will be another first time appearance if all goes as planned!
Boy it's sure going to be nice to have the static ramp really filled out again this year. Almost back to the days of old where the heavy side went biggest to smallest down the line: C-5, KC-10, C-17, ect.AirshowHawk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 7:15 am C-17 Demo is still a possibility... if not expect it for static.

No no, I'm not meaning to get into a comparison war. At all, ever. I'm traveling from London for this show so I'm beyond excited. I was just politely meaning the fact that London can put up a nice display- so I'd be interested to see how it comes together in the last few weeks for Abbotsford given the no limit for statics.
My apologies everyone, didn't mean to spark any bad fumes with people in the forum.

Don’t forget the Airbus A400M! Very much looking forward to its arrival.

I checked-off in the A400M at RIAT last year but yes, another first for Abby! I wonder when Whidbey will send over a P-8 for another Abby first.AirshowHawk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 5:42 pmDon’t forget the Airbus A400M! Very much looking forward to its arrival.

I think those are all firsts for me as well - only one I'm not sure of is the MC-130J. Has that particular plane been at Abby before? (so many shows, only so much memory). Looking forward to wandering through the Galaxy again. I'm also intrigued by the warbirds selection this year - should be good. I don't think there's anything really "new" in the flying show, but the return of the Blues and the NORAD formation (which will be new!) are among the definite highlights.AirshowHawk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 5:42 pmDon’t forget the Airbus A400M! One thing I will say about the noise on last year's thread (and, yes, I was a part of that): it may not have been directly responsible, but it certainly seems that the AIAS is making much better use of both their website and social media, particularly providing Confirmations!
Finally, what could be left for SAR week? Or connected to the Facebook "Throwback Thursday" posts?
And I think AirshowHawk also mentioned something about tankers?

The MC-130J was at the GF2 event this year, but idk if you would count that.Frenetic Enigma wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 6:04 pmI think those are all firsts for me as well - only one I'm not sure of is the MC-130J. Another possible contender for SAR week would be an RCAF C130.
