I'll be there Sunday with the group I attend Oshkosh with. We enjoyed our last visit to Janesville when the airport hosted Heavy Bombers Weekend in 2016. Hoping for a similar setup and an opportunity to see the B-24 in the air for the first time in a while!

This is very tempting, but I don't want to miss Saturday and Sunday arrivals at Osh. 2017 was my first year at Airventure and I loved the two days of non-stop arrivals.

Is it safe to say all the warbirds in this show will be arriving at Airventure late Sunday or early Monday?

I wouldn't count on all of the aircraft heading to Oshkosh. Some CAF planes will stage out of Appleton or Fond du Lac to give rides the week of Airventure and never even land at Oshkosh. From looking at the Airpower Squadron site, it doesn't appear the B-24 will be making its way to Oshkosh. I'm not sure about the B-25, but it looks like the C-47 will go to the big show to make its debut. I think it's probably safe to assume the C-1 and AC-47 will appear at Oshkosh.

Looks like there's a competing event in Madison that weekend as well. This seems ... pretty dumb. I guess we know that the original Heavy Bombers Weekend plan to rotate between Janesville and Madison has officially split into two events.

Janesville has 15+ aircraft (and more to announce), plus reenactors, 1940's music, food vendors, merchandise vendors. 100+ Beechcraft Fly-over saturday, plus dozens of Cirrus aircraft conducting a formation clinic all weekend.

Janesville's admission is $10/individual or $20/family. www.JVL18.splashthat.com

To answer other questions, most warbirds will be departing after 6pm Sunday night enroute to OSH or early Monday morning.

We have confirmation that P-51 "Red Nose" will be attending Janesville Warbird Weekend providing air-rides all weekend!

We also have confirmation that C-47 "That's All Brother" will be providing air-rides all weekend as well.

Air-ride links will be up in a day or two for advance reservations.

Bucket Lists!

You are cordially invited. Partnering with SC Aviation and Liberty Fest 2018, the evening will conclude with a massive fireworks show at Traxler Park:

How about we set a World Record this year at Janesville Warbird Weekend 2018? This just in from the Bonanzas to Oshkosh Flight Leader: "We have 160 airplanes signed up in 2018! There will be a few cancellations, I expect we will fly with 145-150 total. Our biggest flight formation ever!! And, we hold the NAA World Record for civilian aircraft. 132, set in 1995." Saturday July 21st, 2018 at Noon at Janesville Warbird Weekend. Don't miss it! #JVL18 #B2OSH #FlyOver #Bonanzas #Janesville

We're planning on attending the Janesville event on Sunday and are looking forward to it. We really enjoyed the last event we attended there in 2016.

A little bummed that the B-24 has been removed from the list, but the aircraft is still in deep maintenance. Can't rush those things and there will be plenty of other warbirds to look at and see in the air.
