I don't really see the showing being changed to Sunday. The weather does look kind of bad on Saturday, and I'm concerned the parking lot might be a mess.

I wouldn't expect a reschedule for Sunday and I wouldn't count on communication from the show in advance. None of the social media pages are very active and the only thing that's ever updated on the website is the date and schedule.
Anyone have recommendations on the best place to sit to get taxi photos and still have a clear view of the runway? I've never been to this show before and don't have any idea of what to expect with the layout. Any help appreciated!
In the meantime, I hope the weather forecast gets better. The weather the rest of the week looks pretty iffy too.

Here's the best layout I can do from memory.
Red is the crowd line. It is snow fencing on the grass but to form the line on the ramp they march out 300 cadets and have them stand the entire time. I have no idea WHY but this show is crazy about cadets. Every static airplane has at least three guarding it and they are everywhere else too. Some were very nice to move for a photo others thought they were protecting a stealth fighter with their life. The left end of the line used to be good but you may not be able to get there any more. It may end at the ramp edge.
Lime green is where most of the cool aircraft park, facing the crowd. The aerobatic guys and announcer stand are in the little section to the left. This whole area is open for a bit before show time then they close it off so go early to get up close to the planes at all. Orange is the static displays that are accessible all day. Most vendors are in the parking lot behind the word Signature.
Purple is a second section of hot ramp, usually for the T-28s and some other stuff. These will taxi out past the right end of the crowdline.
Show center is approximately where the blue dot is, and pyro is across the field. I do have some videos from last year on our channel that might help orient you.
The best spot for me was in the grass toward the right end, but if you want startups and taxi shots and don't mind the runway being blocked by kids and aircraft, your best bet is to sit on the ramp.
If you stay a bit after the show, you can usually catch some warbirds leaving for home but the cadets try to clear the ramp pretty quickly.
I can dig up some photos tonight if you want more perspective but hopefully that helps!

That's a huge help, thanks! I've seen your videos and photos from the past few years and this helps put it all in place. I think I'm going to try to be a little to the right of the ramp. It stands to reason that most of the aircraft will have to taxi out or back into the ramp that way.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

You are correct regarding their FB page, very inactive. At this moment, the National Weather Service is predicting the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon to make its way up through N IL on Saturday. Let's hope that forecast changes...kalamazookid wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 1:36 pm I wouldn't expect a reschedule for Sunday and I wouldn't count on communication from the show in advance. Weather forecast looks a lot better now. The high winds are concerning, but I'm going to chance it and make the drive tomorrow.
