I see the website added the us navy tailhook legacy flight? Forgive my ignorance, is this a superhornet ? Is it more like a heritage flight type display?

Heritage Flight, limited Super Hornet demo alongside a Navy warbird.

Better than nothing!

I just noticed that now. So the Navy Tac Demo is not scheduled for Abbotsford. I wonder why that would be on the site? The Skyraider is pictured with it, but isn't listed as a solo demo/warbirds.

Because it's a Navy Legacy Flight. You'll still see a Super Hornet, it'll just be a shorter flight paired with a warbird, (hopefully Heritage Flight Museum's Skyraider). Just more efficient to not have a specific demo team and too many low-level maneuvers to practice...

As mentioned before, the Superhornet will not be doing a demo but will participate in the Legacy Flight with the A-1 Skyraider. Seems very likely that the Superhornet that will fly will not be the same as the demo team Rhino.

Still a win in my book.

Looks like they had 2 F-18F's in the legacy flight last weekend in Florida. Hopefully we get the same.

VF-122 is the squadron that will supply the aircraft as per their IG page.

HFF website lists Waco UPF-7, DC-3, and P-51B "Impatient Virgin" to appear at Abbotsford 2019.

Looks like their B-25 may be in Abbotsford on May 4th for a pre-show event as well.

My understanding is the plan is it will be a VFA-122 F/A-18F Rhino paired up with the Heritage Flight Museum A-1 Skyraider.

Yes, HFF will be making quite a comeback to Abbotsford - both on 4 May and at the main airshow.

Also finally just learned from Abbotsford Airshow's official Facebook...
We're developing a new traffic plan to better streamline arriving patrons to our gates and we will likely be opening the gates a bit earlier as well (stay tuned for updates). Probably the biggest change is the T-Birds will not be performing during Friday's Twilight show. The US jet teams have to fly too early due to sunset restrictions for us to get a large crowd into the show site (as we learned last year).
. . .
There are a variety of reasons for no Tbirds on Friday. Traffic was just the most relevant one to your question. Setup time required before gates open, volunteer day length, airline schedules, and other factors all play a role (as did requirements from the team itself). We've noted that the Tbirds are only performing Saturday and Sunday on our website on the Performers Page, the Schedule Page and the FAQ page since before tickets went on sale. We'll be including in our social media communications as well to ensure people know as best as we can.
Figured I should share here. Fully support the airshow's decision on this and I'd like to leave it at that.

Just bought last night my AIRBNB reservation for the weekend!

If you believe the Abby Airshow App (And that's a big IF)

+Erickson collection P-47 and P-38 Lightning. Awesome if it's true! Would be the first P-38 in Abbotsford since early 1980's I believe.

+CH-148 Cyclone SAR demo
