Is it me, or is this pretty much the exact same air show they have had for the last two times?

C-17 Demo was just added yesterday. Probably the same one doing the demo at SJ.

Some final website updates:
  • AV-8B and C-17 officially added to performers list.
  • USMC F/A-18C added to performers list. MAGTF or solo demo?
  • Looks like the P-38 is removed. Expecting cancellation.

Weather looks great this weekend. This should be a fun trip.

Great weekend. This show just slightly outdid WoW in my opinion.

They had a strangely different crowd setup than the previous shows. They basically switched the performer and static areas. I think they did this so they could utilize the other runway instead of closing it. Wasn't really a fan of it tbh. It put the crowd at the far right of the runway. Plus it added a ton of walking. That base layout isn't very ergonomic for air shows anyway. I guess it was interesting seeing a different part of the base for the first time.

The F-35B Demo was by far the most aggressive demo I've ever seen from the Bravo. It included a square loop, a "lightning loop", a "dojo drift" style pitch...AND A 720° PEDAL TURN! It may have actually surpassed the Air Force demo in performance. I can't believe this capability hasn't been shown sooner. Wish I could have filmed it better.

The F-22 had one of the coolest take offs I've ever seen. Like many performers, it took off from runway 23 (from in front). It then pitched 90 degrees left to line up with the show line before the climb. Shout to Loco for being so adaptable.

A few other notes:

The AV-8 didn't need to cool its engine after "the dance" like it normally does.

The F-22 demo planes were from different squadrons. First time I've ever seen that.

It looks like Rob Holland has his new MX-S (or at least another temporary one).
