At this point, parking is planned to be on site and at other locations near the airport. The days of the Downtown Parking are over. There still will be some shuttle runs but a lot of the parking will be a lot more centralized to the airport/base.

This will be my first time going to the Fort Wayne Airshow and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on this show or some tips I should know for this show site?

Do the Blacksnake A-10s put on a performance at this show, and if I'm not mistaken, isn't Dean's F-100 based here as well? I know it takes a ton of work to maintain that bird, is there a good chance he'll fly it here? Those two would be enough to make the long drive. Thanks.

The F-100 is still there and did fly last time I went (2012 practice day). I definitely think it'd fly this year.Djack wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:39 am Do the Blacksnake A-10s put on a performance at this show, and if I'm not mistaken, isn't Dean's F-100 based here as well? Not sure about the A-10s but it'd be pretty embarrassing if they didn't fly at their once every three years show!

They both flew in 2016. The A-10 performance was a 4 ship show w/ pyro.Djack wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:39 am Do the Blacksnake A-10s put on a performance at this show, and if I'm not mistaken, isn't Dean's F-100 based here as well? Yes, the A-10s will most certainly be a part of the show and will also include pyro. It will be a simulated field attack.Djack wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:39 am Do the Blacksnake A-10s put on a performance at this show, and if I'm not mistaken, isn't Dean's F-100 based here as well? In addition, while not 100% confirmed yet, Dean usually does fly his F-100 during the show. So count on seeing it.
A few more things may be added as well. The static list this year will be pretty good.
Also, an update, it will be SHOCKWAVE Jet Truck and not Flash Fire performing during the show.

Thanks for all the info guys. Now that I'm thinking about this show, I have a couple more questions...
Is there quite a bit of open flight line so set up my chair and get good shots, or are the chalets blocking the majority of the flightline, along with the reserved seating?
Also, if by chance I can get out there early on Friday, are there spots near the ends of the runway that I might be able to catch some arrivals or practices from, without much fuss from base security? Thanks again.

When I went to the show in 2012, there were several seating areas, with chalets separating the seating areas. They changed the layout in 2016, with the chalets being in one long row, and one large seating area. In 2016, the general seating area was in the grass next to the air force base and part of runway 23. I'm not sure how it will be setup this year.
I'm hoping for good weather!
