Take it from me, this is one of the best air shows in the world. This event ruled Fort Lauderdale Beach from 1995-2007 with some big name civilian acts. They went all out every time getting flyovers from all 3 bombers as well as the F-117, refuelers, transports and occasional fighter or trainer jets and demonstrations from the Coast Guard, 920th RQW, F-14, F-15, F/A-18, F-16, A-10, Harrier, V-22, T-6A Texan II and F-22 (in 2007 before the show went into limbo). The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels alternated every year with the Brazilian Air Force display team performing once in 1997 and the Snowbirds performing from 2000-2006. The one thing that stood out was the beach invasion which consisted of F/A-18s, Harriers, Cobras, CH-46s, a UH-1 or CH-53, AAVs and the LCAC.

When it returned in 2017, it was all military and just about everyone flew except for the T-6A, F-35 and F-15.

This year’s lineup had the Lima Lima Flight Team but they have since been removed and there’s a chance the A-10 and F-22 demonstration teams could perform here as well as the bombers. As for the F-16 and F-15, it’s possible they’ll do a flyover.

just got home from the ft lauderdale airshow, weather was perfect. The Angels and Raptor were great, the -10"s did nothing!! pretty sad.
Anyway is there any update to this upcoming miami show regarding military jets? full lineup? any new add on"s?

As of this writing, there haven’t been any new announcements. I believe the lineup is pretty much final but still hoping either the F-22 or A-10C (or both) show up. The A-10s that were at Fort Lauderdale were just meant to do a flyover and I already relayed to the head honcho to be more specific for next year if they’re going to do flyovers

No this is the final lineup. A-10 Demo is in Indiana for the Indy 500 and nothing from the F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team.

I have to say that while the line-up may indeed still be fantastic, this has to be one of the worst promoted shows I have ever seen from a social media perspective. For most shows nowadays the best place for accurate information is on Facebook or in some cases Twitter.

Based on this shows Facebook page you would hardly even know the Blue Angels are performing. This is one of the first shows in country to have a full up USAF F-35 demo yet I don't think there has been a single mention of it despite dozens of posts indicating that the Golden Knights are performing. We are now within a couple of days of the show and all they are talking about are their sponsors, the paid seating, and the concert series. You would think they would like to talk up the self promoted "Greatest Airshow on Earth" and actually tell people what is going to be performing.

Some will argue that they have the website for that information, but there are still several inconsistencies on there when you compare the performers to the schedule (IE Osprey, F-22, F-15, no legacy flight listed etc.). Also, I talked to a Barksdale B-52 pilot at Andrews 10 days ago and he said at the time there was only one B-1 per squadron flying because of the inspections post stand down. I would say the chances of it showing up are slim to none. He also said that if there was a B-52 that it would be from Minot because they weren't scheduled to attend. Would be nice to see at least 1-2 of the Bombers actually show up as I believe all 3 actually made it last year.

Regardless, I am really looking forward to attending for the first time and I am sure what military hardware ultimately performers it will be considerably more than most shows in the country.

Hey Matt,

I agree with you on the event lineup being poorly promoted, in the first two years they made announcements prior to the airshow on what was going to perform. It appears that they are more interested in promoting ticket sales and the Sunday concert.

As far as the lineup goes, it appears to be final and everything on the event schedule is confirmed to appear, unless the military decides to pull out last minute which is a possibility, but hopefully not. *fingers crossed. I was told they were working on getting the Raptor demo, but that fell through.

Arrivals should begin today, for sure tomorrow morning. The Blue Angels and the F35 team should be in Miami at around 10AM.

Thank you!
