I'm guessing that aircraft is travelling with the Reds? Unfortunately I'll be in Ohio that weekend but we are planning to take in the Cleveland show which looks pretty good as well. I am impressed with the CIAS this year , apparently there are new people in charge there and they are doing a pretty decent job.

Correct. That is the Red Arrows’ support aircraft. Really glad they got it to be performing this year, it’s an amazing aircraft to see fly.

Cheers,

I'm excited to see the Red Arrows and delighted that their A400m will be appearing too. Also good to see the ANG A-10, but I'm very disappointed that there's no CF-18 Demo, no USAF Demos either (other than the Blackhawk), and no vintage Warbirds or Mike Wiskus. I can't remember the last time the CIAS had neither CF-18 Demo or Mike Wiskus.

Nice to see some new stuff rather than the same old show every year. We need more variety and I'm happy CIAS is finally shaking it up after so many years of the same dull shows.

You lucky, lucky CIAS visitors! The RAF NEVER does anything with their A400Ms at home! In fact, other than the occasional straight-and-level flypast, I can't think of an RAF A400M ever doing any kind of display before.

There were plans for the RAF to display the Atlas in 2018 for the RAF's 100th Anniversary year but senior brass put and end to it, adding that Airbus had a display so the RAF didn't need to.

Nice to see the Atlas listed as a flier for CIAS anyway, goes some way to repay the great support the Canadians have provided to the UK scene over the last few years.

It may be flying - but it won't be a "display." I think someone would have noticed a display 'work-up' by now if it were displaying.

It performed a flypast in Halifax alongside the RCAF and Red Arrows so I expect more of the same. Glad to see the RAF/FCO making the most of the aircraft deployed and reciprocating the superb support we've had in the UK from RCAF.

But the Halifax flypast featured a steep pull-up and wingover, which is already more than we've seen from an RAF A400M in the UK. If it does a couple of passes and a wingover, then that's as much as most heavies ever do in a display, and I don't see why it would need an extensive work-up? After all, the RAF have done mini-displays in the past, most recently the F-35's "role demo" (in the RAF's own words) at RIAT this year, and I don't recall there being a particularly noticeable work-up for that.

Any news on practice day and/or schedule of performers?

Trying to plan my time off request from work.
