The thing that always killed me is the 15+ minute bus ride to the base, I wish they still used the branch metro station. If it wasn't for the fact I live some what close to the base I wouldn't go to there shows.

I always go to Andrews. Great statics.

Sad the F-22 Demo will not be there this year. They have done Andrews every year.

Hope Thunderbirds and Blue Angels will both be there.

I remember 2000 when T-birds and Blues were actually there at Andrews and the weather was terrible for both days. Saturday was a complete wash-out and I think one of the teams only did passes on Sunday.

Both teams were at Atlantic city back in 2004 or 2005. I remember one team performed at about 12:30 and the other was the finale.

Interesting that their schedule lists the TB takeoff time but not the Blues takeoff time.

Side note: I hate shows that say they can't post performer times for security reasons. What BS

Hope they have F-22 and/or F-35 on static.

F-16 will be the 113 FW 4-ship that usually fly. They usually do 3 or 4 fly-bys. The take-offs are the best part.

Wonder why the F-22 Demo is not coming. It has been a tradition at Andrews for last several shows.

As far as the bus from Fedex . . .

If you arrive by 8 or 8:30 AM, lines move quickly and you are on-base rather fast.

At the end of show, wait and check out statics. Then move to the bus lines and look for the Base Personnel that encourage people to spread-out on each side. Usually 4 or 5 long lines form in the center, but there are actually about 20 lines for buses. Move to the left or right and lines are much shorter.

Believe the last time BA and T Birds were scheduled to perform at Andrews was in 2000.I flew from NY for the Saturday performance and it was cancelled due to weather. One of the major disappointments of my airshows history. The consolation prize was chatting with Brig General Steve Ritchie.A class act.

I live in Alexandria, VA and I'm looking for one or more persons interested in paying the $135 fee for a covered table and the buffet lunch in the Flight Line Club seating area. I'm a serious amateur photographer with some past experience shooting air show jet performances (see attached files), so fellow photographers would be especially welcome.

Yes, the air shows at Andrews can be a real madhouse. Since I travel around the U.S. a lot I can objectively attest that rude and obnoxious behavior isn't limited to just the Andrews crowd. It's all too typical of the some of the population in the DC Metro area. Of course, because of its volume of static displays and performers, to say nothing of all the other tourist attractions in the DC Metro area, the Andrews show does tend to attract a lot of non-local visitors as well.

In any case, if you're interested in joining me, please let me know ASAP because those tickets sell out fast.

They've updated their website with some new info.

First off, the Blues and Tbirds will alternate the main event and noon slots for both days. So the Blues will headline Saturday, and the Tbirds will headline Sunday.

They've also added a ton of performers. I'll list the full roster below:

Air Force Thunderbirds
Navy Blue Angels
Army Golden Knights Parachute Jump Team
Geico Skytypers
Patty Wagstaff
B-25 Panchito
Commemorative Air Force P-51 Redtail
Shockwave Jet Truck
Air Combat Command A-10 Demo
USAF Heritage Flight
MIchael Goulian
Oracle Flight Team
Tora Bomb Group (Pyrotechnics)
Kent Pietsch
Hometown Fliers:
UH-1N Iroquois
F-16 Fighting Falcon
KC-135 Stratotanker
Possible C-40
USAF Band
USAF Honor Guard / Drill Team

Looking forward to it!

Expect very large crowds with both Blue Angels and Thunderbirds performing.

Hope organizers take this into consideration and have enough support for the event.

Andrews has been doing the airshow for many years, so I suspect they will be ready.
