Stratolaunch rolled out of the hanger for the first time yesterday to begin its initial ground testing. Startolaunch was created by Paul Allen, cofounder of Microsoft. This new twin fuselage giant is designed to carry and launch rockets into orbit. It has a wingspan of 385 ft, a length of 238 ft (shorter than AN-225) and a height of 50 ft. It weighs up to 580 tons and is powered by six engines, the same used for the Boeing 747.

In the telegraph article, you can clearly see how stratolaunch compares to other large aircraft in size.

Ugly as hell but it will probably be cool to see in practice.

Rumors are that Stratolaunch is shutting down after just one flight, but the company is denying it.

Stratolaunch flew this Thursday for just the second time. Evidently, it's not dead yet.
