F-16 Crash in Houston

Post by awal2049 » Wed Jun 21, 2017 11:25 pm

An Oklahoma National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcon caught fire while taking off at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base near Houston, Texas. The pilot ejected on the ground and sustained injuries, and he has been taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The F-16 was still on fire with the engine running after it came to a stop in the grass. Additionally, the plane was fully loaded with armed weapons. An evacuation radius had to be placed until the engine cut off and fire crews could safely move in.

Everything it was carrying was inert. F-16 carries some hazmat on it for its EPU that is pretty dangerous if you breath it in
