F-35 Fires Missile Inverted

Post by awal2049 » Fri Jun 30, 2017 12:23 am

An F-35C fired an external AIM-9X Sidewinder missile while in inverted flight as a test for negative G performance. This F-35 is the U.S. Navy's carrier variant of the fighter, which is now evidently testing its weapon systems. This capability isn't particularly groundbreaking, I just thought it was interesting. Here's an article and some pictures courtesy of the F-35 Joint Program Office.
