This is old news by now, but an Indiana A-10 Thunderbolt made a gear up emergency landing in Michigan on July 20. This happened after one of the 30mm Gatling cannon's barrels exploded and damaged the aircraft. The explosion blew the canopy off, destroyed 2 of the 3 radio systems, and jammed the nose gear up. The pilot also suspected that the ejection system was not fully functional, so he decided to stay in and land. Flying around at 350 mph with no canopy must be horrifying. Luckily the A-10 is very durable and took the landing like a champ. Glad no one was hurt.
