Mustangs Collide during Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show

Post by awal2049 » Tue Sep 26, 2017 12:44 pm

On Saturday, two P-51D Mustangs collided in mid air during the Battle of Britain Air Show in Duxford, UK. They sustained damage, but they were both able to land safely. The two Mustangs involved were "Miss Helen" and "The Shark." There's a video going around, shown in the link, of the entire flight. The Mustangs can be seen making contact at 10:51. Afterward, the pilot of Miss Helen can be heard calling "remain clear, Mayday!" on the radio. Miss Helen lands at the 11:58 mark, and visible damage to the left horizontal stabilizer can be seen.
