Are the Blue angels having a lot of maintenance issues this season? According to a friend, they only flew 3 jets
during their Saturday performance. Hopefully the weather breaks, and today's show is better. as of 0900 local, METAR
is showing 700 foot ceilings.

They definitely are, five ship shows seem to be common. They have less jets in their inventory than usual on top of all of the age-related problems. I was listening in on the internet stream of the audio yesterday and it was appalling! The poor narrator did his best but couldn't keep up. What an absolute embarrassment for the navy. None of it is the maintainers fault either, just the circumstances they were given.

Wow wonder how that happens. Worldwide operations tempo must have something to do with it, but the T-birds are at RIAT this weekend and I think I counted 8 jets, as well as a new ( or repainted 2 seater to replace the one that flipped at Dayton) Can't be good for morale given the pride they take in putting on a quality show.

Yep, Friday's practice had 1, 5, 6, and 7. Saturday it was only 1, 4, and 5. Sunday was 1, 2, 4, 5, 6.

Yup
I saw Sunday's departure for the show, from the parking area at the north side of the field. didn't stay for their return, but fat albert made a couple of passes for the people watching near the airport. According to a friend, He heard Bob Uecker (the famous baseball announcer and Miller lite commercial star) talking about the Angels during the game. He said that Fat Albert made a parts run to PNS Saturday night and returned overnight with parts. True, that's anecdotal, but if so that's dedication. Hopefully they are able to field a full team for Oshkosh.
