Well it turns out 2 B-1B's will not be happening unfortunately. It turns out it was a communication error on my friends part, and the second bomber was going to be the B-52 not a second B-1B. It doesn't seem like the B-2 will be attending either this year but then again it would have likely only done flybys on Saturday or Sunday and would not have touched down for statics or even the hot ramp for pictures.

Unless things change, the B-1B will be attending from Ellsworth AFB.

By the way Lukas, I think you may be on to something, and I'm definitely not referring to the random pile of firewood on the Tarmac.

I'll guess the PBY Catalina. Lukas, that U-2 is a nice guess.

Let's not forget that the aircraft is a jet.. as hinted earlier. Also the Catalina has been to Abby a few times on Static.

Canadian Museum of Flight from Langley will be bringing quite a few aircraft from their collection this year that will be flying. Looking forward to those local classics as always.

Cheers,
Hawk

So barring it being something other than American or Canadian, my friend and I were discussing it this weekend and we think it might be an RC-12 Guardrail. I know they aren't jet powered but they are turbo-props.

So a Wedge can be a piece of wood and I know it technically hasn't been to YXX but my new guess is an RAAF Wedgetail.

Well if it isn't a U-2 or ER-2, my reasoning has got to at least be worth another clue...

And regardless of whether or not this mystery flying piece of wood actually shows up for Abby, at this point you eventually need to tell us what it was.

So at work today it dawned on me; what does a drain make when it has been unclogged? A waterspout. What are waterspouts? Tornados.

So the tornado is a jet, check.

Now comes the fun part. What airforce flies Tonkas and has something that would resemble a thick piece of wood? The Luftwaffe and their CROSS. Traditionally made of wood though those guys have one made of iron.

Now there is a detachment of Luftwaffe Tonkas at Hollander AFB in New Mexico, plus they are rumored to be at another airshow in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Luftwaffe Tornados is what it has to be.

Also they've only been to Abby once before. If this isn't it then we really need another clue.
