It could potentially be a mistake on ICAS' database as well. They listed the F-16 Demo Team for London, when it was at Owensboro.

Could always send an e-mail to the PAO to get confirmation if the Super Hornet and C-17 will indeed be there. Would make the line-up even better!

To add to the speculation regarding the Super Hornet, I noticed that when it was added to the ICAS list for Nellis (it wasn't always there), it was around that time that Hillsboro added the Super Hornet to their performer list...and it did appear there. For what it's worth....which probably isn't much.

Wow, sucks the F-35 was dropped from the list.

Saw on the Nellis website a new link asking us to download the Aviation Nation app... promptly did so, only to see that it's still last year's info. I would have thought promoting the app would have happened after it was updated? Just a small gripe from a very expectant guy, so I guess I own that!

Anyway, 4 weeks to go. Would have been good to see the Nellis heritage planes, but it doesn't seem to be part of the schedule. Also, why wouldn't the F-35 even put on a brief fly past?

Hi! I will attend 2017's aviation Nation from a tiny island in the Mediterranean from Spain it will be a kind of self present on my 50th birthday and I am very excited about it all. Thank You all posting information about the event as it is very helpful. Does anyone knows if there is a possibility to contact some kind of public relations staff of the Thunderbirds team? as a former pilot I would like to give out a small present to each of the 12 major components of the team, so I guess this would be the only way.. Or?
See ya all there.

Welcome! You can certainly contact the PAO staff through their website. Also, the Thunderbird officers almost always spend some time signing autographs along the fence after their show. If you are quick you can maybe talk to all of them!

Similar to some others that have posted here, I am making my first ever trip to Nellis for the show. As a photographer, I am curious as to how strict security is with bag size based on the criteria listed on the website so I am seeking out input from those of you who have attended before. I have a holster for my camera and 100-400 along with a lens pouch that attaches to the holster that I will probably take just to be safe. I will have a backpack I will be traveling with that has been acceptable at other shows including some guard bases. Just trying to see if I should even chance it with the backpack.

Also, I will be arriving Thursday before the show. Where would be the best places to try and plane spot on Friday? I know there is a place by the speedway and one at the other end of the runway, but not too sure where that is or how to get there. Would really appreciate any insight you all could give me. Thanks!

the other end of the runway is E Cheyenne Ave right off of North Nellis Blvd, you can get some good landing shots from there should they be landing from that end, mostly underbelly but they are almost close enough you could reach up and touch them, i haven't been there to catch take offs

also, last year i carried in my camera with 500mm attched to it in my hand and i also had a back pack, the size that'll fit under the seat of a plane, not small but not overly large
