London's show is 2 weeks after the last scheduled show in the UK, so we shall see. I don't want to get my hopes up, but with the show helping Celebrate Canada's 150th and the addition of some international aircraft already (Solo Turk, and Austrailian aircraft TBD), it would make sense and be a big deal.

We shall see!
This would be pretty incredible if it happens. The Snowbirds and Red Arrows at the same show... does it get any better than that?! :)
Speculation on UK airshow sites are a Middle Eastern tour of the Red arrows starting in September. This article may be a clue...

also may explain why the tour hasn't been revealed yet. I'm sure lots of "Politics" would be involved.

I have actually seen that article as well. 2 things; 1) that's the only article that mentions they would be going to the Middle East. Other articles don't speculate where the tour will be. 2) The Reds went on tour to Asia/Middle East last year. I would find it odd if they went back to back years to the same area.

Regardless, I'm sure we will find out soon. Fingers crossed it's a North American tour vs the speculated Middle Eastern tour ;)

Officially announced by Airshow London, Jerry "Vlad" Conley's DeHavilland Vampire!

Most airshow enthusiasts already knew this because we search the net for every performer schedule out there, but the average joe won't. I do like how they announce performers and statics one by one. It gives the show hype.

Here is the Facebook post of the performer announcement:

Hi friends,
my name is Claudia and I'm from Switzerland.
This year I will attend the London (ON) Airshow for the first time and I was wondering if someone could give me some advices.
I have purchased Photo Pit Tickets.
Does anybody knows how "close" the runway is ?
which lenses are the best ?
Any information regarding this Airshow would be very helpful.
I'm very excited to come to Canada to see this Airshow and as far as I could read it will be a good one.
So now let's dream a little bit ... a great addition would be a B-2 !!!
Many thanks to all and have a wonderful summer
Bye
Claudia

Hi Claudia, thanks for joining! I've moved your post into the existing London thread where there is some info already posted.

In general, I would suggest at least a 300mm lens for photography. Longer would be even better.
