Barksdale AFB Airshow - May 6-7, 2017

Post by RyanS » Fri Feb 24, 2017 2:21 am

The Barksdale AFB Airshow Facebook page posted this graphic today, saying that they will have all three strategic bombers in "The B Flyover". This also makes it likely that other shows taking place that weekend will get a bomber flyby or two. It doesn't say they will be in formation, but they have done some cool stuff at Barksdale in the past so it could happen!

The US Navy Blue Angels are headlining the show.

The B-29 "Doc" has Barksdale listed as one of four events on their current schedule. Is Fifi going to be there as well? They may well be together before Oshkosh rolls around!

Just to update everyone, FiFi is scheduled to be in California the weekend of Barksdale, so they will likely not be crossing paths until Oshkosh.

Thanks for point that out, Ryan G!

I'm excited to be heading down south to Barksdale AFB this weekend for my first airshow of the season. I was fortunate enough to see Patrioulle de France and their A400M here in Kansas City a few weeks ago, but I've been impatiently waiting for another airshow since Nellis last November. Excited to see 'DOC' and of course the bomber trifecta.

Awesome! This was the first airshow appearance for Doc, correct? Would I be able to use those photos in a blog post this week, with credit to you of course?

By the way, you don't need to post the attachment link in the text of your post. The images are automatically added at the end

Ryan, I'm not sure if that was the first. I would assume his schedule is on his web sight.
Sorry about the post. I'm just getting use to it, I'm an OLD guy.
Sure, you are welcome to use anything I post.
