Only a low show from the Thunderbirds today, but at least we got to see the F-22 power loop (not performed at Oshkosh due to box limitations).
Airshow boss was on 118.4
KC Formation Flight was on 123.35
4ce was on 122.125

The T-birds did like 4-5 "sneak passes" on Sunday. It was great. Not sure if it was planned to be that way but people kept getting caught off guard (myself included)

Ivan! No idea you were there as well - would have loved to say 'hi'! There's only 2 sneak passes in a T-Birds show, but since they were doing a 'low' show, I think we got more low level action than we might see otherwise. Wish we could have gotten a high show (the high bomb burst and rejoin is my favorite part of the whole show), but at least the F-22 gave a 'full' show as opposed to the reduced box routine we saw at Oshkosh.
Milwaukee is a nice show to watch, but not a great show to photograph - the acts are further away from the crowd line and the humid lakefront air puts additional haze between the crowd and the planes. On the other hand, the performers seem to really like the venue - given the radio chatter, the KC Flight Formation Team had a great time and commented "we should only do over-water shows from now on!"

The sneak passes were awesome--- some I didn't know were coming either. I didn't see a "full" F22 demo. It did 3 to 4 maneuvers after the heritage flight. The f35 did a full demo.
Sunday's heritage flight consisted of only the a10, f35, and f22--- not sure what happened to the p51.

My mistake, then - I thought the F-22 did a full demo on Sunday, given that they did the 'power loop' maneuver (which one of the demo team told me they weren't able to perform at Oshkosh due to box limitations - I know I've seen them do that maneuver before at Oshkosh, but perhaps that was in conjunction with an expanded box for one of the big jet team performances).

I wasn't trying to call you out. Lol. I was more upset that the show said the full demo was happening, and then only a heritage flight occurred. With that said, the f22 did some maneuvers after the flight.

Haha, I had no idea I would be there as well, until Sunday morning. A very last minute decision really. I'll be at the Chicago show this Friday. This was the first time I tried Milwaukee. Unfortunately you're right, I don't have a lot of keepers and I'm seeing massive heat haze in a lot of my photos. However it was a very pleasant show, I loved that it wasn't sardine packed like Chicago. I barely even photographed the T-birds and just enjoyed the show.Have Blue wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 3:09 amIvan! No idea you were there as well - would have loved to say 'hi'!
