2nd Annual Gathering of TBM Avengers
2nd Annual Gathering of TBM Avengers
May 20th, 2017
Illinois Valley Regional Airport
Peru, Illinois USA
Right now, the plan is to have at least 14 TBM Avengers at the Gathering.
Thanks to sponsors, fuel will be covered for other warbird pilots, so there is a good chance that something not usually seen may show up. Always a good hope for that.

AirshowStuff's own Anthony Richards came up with this flyer that is being distributed for the event, using some of my photos from last year.
I definitely plan to go back!

I just put together a short preview post with some of the latest information from Brad. The verbal commitments are up to 16 TBMs now! A bunch of other warbirds have expressed interest as well, but obviously lots of things can change those plans.

Headed out to this one after work tomorrow. Weather looks crappy but fingers crossed anyway! Sounds like some very cool warbirds could be attending if it holds off.

Since the Wx is markedly better on Sunday is there any chance they might postpone until then?

No, today is the only official day. It is a steady rain right now but different forecasts have it starting to clear between 1pm and 5pm. The good thing about this event is that even if they can't fly during the waiver time, the window for potential flying doesn't close until sunset. Looking at the radar, I am in no rush to get to the airport.Jetblast18 wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2017 11:59 am Since the Wx is markedly better on Sunday is there any chance they might postpone until then?
There have been murmurs of a potential TBM photo flight tomorrow morning before people leave. The MiG and Sabre will be leaving tomorrow in the mid-morning also. IF the rain keeps up today and flying is scrubbed, most of the TBMs will be looking to leave. It should certainly be worth coming out if you can - probably the most flying all weekend.
Yesterday was a total bust, only a Mooney came in IFR and three T-6s did some low level flybys in the evening.

Six TBMs (and a baby TBM) sharing the hangar Thursday night.

Thanks Ryan. I'm about an hour and fifteen minutes away so I still might drive down to take a look today.
