Abbotsford International Airshow 2023
Great email today on arrival times. Assuming everyone gets the insider email so no need to post?
I can't remember if it was last year year or the year prior but the Osprey was scheduled for static but was pulled at the last second. 2 questions:
1. From my memory, the Osprey and the B2 are the only US type assets that havent been on static display at AIA (I remember the B2 has done a flyby) is there other US military type aircraft that we haven't seen?
2. Is there a chance at a last minute addition like the Osprey?
Looking forward to a great show! Going Friday and Sunday

I think there's lots actually.
There would be USAF VIP jets, variants of the C-12 Huron, and special mission C-130 Hercules variants we've never seen.
Of the more well known, have we have seen an E-2 Hawkeye, U-2 Dragon Lady, or EA-18G Growler (flying this year) on static? I've been at every show since 2002, and I'm not sure we've seen those.
I don't think the F-22A Raptor has been on static either.
Speaking of Osprey, what about the CH-53?

I wish more shows did this! Obviously times aren't specified, but it's good to know at least a period of the day stuff will arrive.AirshowHawk wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 12:43 amTuesday, August 8:Frenetic Enigma wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 10:33 pm Please post the info regarding arrival times.

Agreed! Thanks AirshowHawk for the information. A little disappointed I'm not likely able to be out there on Wednesday for the demo team arrivals, but hopefully some of them will go up on Thursday for practice - again, will appreciate any updates those of you in the know (bingofuel, AirshowHawk, etc.) are able to provide.
Otherwise, will be there as usual on Thursday/Friday - looking forward to meeting familiar faces again (if I recall correctly, that will hopefully include viper16 and lukas97 - part of the group I've nicknamed "the ladder boys" - they'll know why!).
Cheers!

Abby has had the E-2 several times in the past although it’s now been an extremely long time since one has returned.JA Boomer wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 9:42 pm

And the U-2 has been here once in 1997.
