Chicago Air & Water Show 2023

I attended on August 19th, and I didn't see see a C-17 Globemaster III, A-4 Skyhawk or Ed Hamill perform at this show as listed. Although, things are always subject to change. I was really hoping to see Ed Hamill because I have never had seen him perform before.

Bummer about no flares. I was going to drive up tomorrow if they were going to use them.

Is it. Don't know why they skipped Chicago, unless there was resistance by the local government to permit it. Wouldn't be surprised since they are so woke and may think the flares can be a danger to the city at large. Heck, Gary had flare dumps with the F-35 a couple weeks ago!

On Friday, the C-17 was there.

On Saturday, around 1:45, Herb Hunter announced that they "lost an act due to a bird strike, and they are heading back to Gary." I think that might have been the C-17, but I'm half guessing, and I didn't hear the whole announcement.

I didn't attend the show, but watched the livestream that ABC 7 had and also listened to the radio coverage on WBBM. I noticed the Thunderbirds skipped a few maneuvers during the show. The didn't do the diamond pass in review, or the low bomb burst. Also, they did the 5 card flat pass instead of the 5 card loop.
