Sorry, being from the other side of the pond and flying over for the show can you explain the safety stand down?passedgas46 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 4:37 pm How does the safety stand-down affect Miramar's upcoming airshow?
Having been to this show several times in the 2000s, I can vouch that the Marines fly damn close to every aircraft type they've got in this airshow, and that would be a huge blow to the flying display.

Not a problem! There's multiple news articles about a two-day safety stand-down or pause in flight ops as a result of the F-35B that went missing. The pause in ops could very well have already happened since the Blue Angels are already at Miramar.Tangoringo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 5:57 pm

Really enjoyable show yesterday despite a few breaks due to the grass fire.
Question though… the static part seemed relatively thin with the vast majority of the USAF static not being present ( no F-15/16/22,B-1/52 or the heavy lift mob ) and a lot of the civvie stuff missing too. I know the weather wasn’t great on Friday but any reason for the no shows?
