The Clipper left right after everyone was unloaded. It was here for maybe an hour at the most.AirshowHawk wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 3:36 amIs the Clipper still here or did it leave just as soon as it came?cf18hornet wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 9:08 pm A US Navy C-40 Clipper just landed with all the Blue Angels crew onboard.

Looks like the P-47 has been replaced by the Erickson P-40 Kittyhawk for the heritage flight

Figured it may be wise to discuss places to view the air when the road is closed for the Blue Angels practice on Thursday. It's been a few years since we've been faced with an extended shut down due to a demo team and I want to make sure everyone is aware that the terminal is part of the "off limits" area. Even passengers that are flying out of CYXX have been given a specially designated holding area located near the Flying Club.
It won't be wise to be in the area north of the airport where the campers generally stay because you will be in the way of the volunteers and workers that are setting up the show and campers that will be arriving and parking.
Back in the 80's and 90's when the roads were closed off the place to go was south of the airfield or attempting to find some friendly farmers that would allow you to park and spectate for a little bit.
Also while I'm at it, I'm very out of the loop when it comes to USAF arrivals this year, so perhaps Bingonfuel or anyone with more information on ETAs can provide it? I only have tentative info on Canadian arrivals which seem to be dated for Thursday and Friday.

So with the show just days away, is the airshow going to publicly clarify what is going on with the F-15 in the NORAD formation? I realize it's a tricky, damned if you do, damned if you don't situation, and they may be leery of a decline in attendance, but isn't it their responsibility to announce a change to a promoted act that they know in advance won't be flying? I'm just wondering if there's any clarity in the situation at this point.

I wouldn’t count on any F-15’s at this point, although you may see a NORAD flight with 2 Cf-18’s and 2 F-16’s.
Don’t see any F-15’s on the arrival schedule anymore.
Never say never tho!

Abby's social media told me they'd announce the cancellation of the F-15's when they were out of replacement options.JA Boomer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 5:24 pm So with the show just days away, is the airshow going to publicly clarify what is going on with the F-15 in the NORAD formation? Downtown Van/PNE just got a flyover - didn't get a good look, but my guess is the CF-18 demo?
If so, should be landing in Abby right about now.

Okay, that makes sense. Too bad the whole team didn't do an English Bay/Kits flyby.theairshowdude wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 9:57 pmIt was a Blue AngelFrenetic Enigma wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 9:52 pm Downtown Van/PNE just got a flyover - didn't get a good look, but my guess is the CF-18 demo?
