The Spanish Navy will be participating at the show for the first time a quite a while with a McD EAV-8B Harrier II+ in the flying display. A nice start.

The NATO 70th Anniversary will still be a major theme of the event.

This summer will be my sixth time crossing the pond for RIAT. I have been blown away by the show each time even during the so called 'off' years. For anyone on tbe N. America side of the Atlantic debating whether or not to make the trip. Do not hesitate.

The Spanish Harrier is an excellent start to the announcements... really moves the needle for me. Exactly the kind of rare act I look for at RIAT.

Great first addition! I agree with Mark with his comments above. I went in 2013, and wish I could go back every single year! If you have the means to go, you owe it to yourself to go! Maybe you'll even run into Mark as I did.

Dave,

2013 was indeed a great year, and an eye opener for someone who was only used to N. American Shows. The Gripens (I think that was the year with the Hungarian dump and burn), Rafale, Polish Mig etc were revelations for me. Each following year has had a excellent mix of the 'standard' items leavened with new and rare acts - keeps me coming back.

As you suggest there can be a great social aspect as well, have met some great guys at the show.

Phew good thing I went last year then.

It’s an amazing show. Plus the two arrivals days mixed with display validations has to be some of the best of the year for aviation enthusiasts, with many types us North Americaners never get to see flying.

I had a great time last year, it was my first time doing the full week after several years of doing one or two days. It was by far the best RIAT I have attended, perhaps even the best airshow I've been to full-stop. I'd love to do the same again, but as I don't have a car and can't camp on-site next year, losing the shuttlebus kills it for me. Back to going on one day only...
