Watching him last year, I came away with the realization that his routine is the perfect airshow performance. He does a perfect mix of high speed passes, photo passes, and a couple aerobatic maneuvers. So many other pilots focus on aerobatics which are really far away. It's a good way to hit the best passes while keeping the action close and of course showing off the afterburner.

More changes on his website. To summarize:

April 27-28 Seymour Johnson changed to MiG-17PF (no night show)

May 3-5 Keesler, MS, MiG-17F

June 1 “Canada”, MiG-17F
June 22-23 Unnamed Airshow, MiG-17F

July 6 Cedar Creek Lake updated, MiG-17F & T-37
July 6-7 Goshen, MiG-17F

August 24-25 Unnamed Airshow, MiG-17PF

September 13-15 Dover AFB, MiG-17F; London, ON removed

Somehow, I doubt this schedule is final. Hopefully we get more info soon.

Two shows two thousand miles apart on the same day? Guess he's got a second pilot?

Greg Howell has been flying the MiG-17 1613 at some shows, but I’m leaning more towards it being a mistake. The whole schedule has some serious cleaning up to be done.

Update: he's since added two shows. Guess he's still not done getting booked.

7-29 SEP LUFKIN TX MiG-17F 1611
04-05 OCT SKYBALL DFW TX MiG-17F 1611

Schedule is much more complete now. No easy way to make text version. I take it Greg will be flying some of the shows, including the overlapping ones. The numbers (1611, 1613, 1713, and 620) indicate which airplane is being flown. Btw, that brings his collection to four MiG-17’s. Let that sink in for a second.

In other news, looks like Oshkosh was added.
