2019 Gathering of TBMs
I think the air show started around noon last year. The last three years, my friends and I have arrived around 9am and have been able to walk around the airport before everything starts.
I read the car show starts around 4pm on Friday this year, and goes to about 7pm. Not sure what time the night flying begins.

Noon sounds right for the airshow, I'm just wondering about ramp access. Don't believe I've seen that anywhere yet. I think it was 10 a.m. last year. I think I'll probably plan on showing up around 9:30 a.m. to be safe

Some bad news for this and a few other shows this summer ... the F4U-7 is down.

On the bright side, I did see this article come up about the event this weekend. Sounds like there will be lots of flying throughout the day, and this answers the question of when the event actually opens up in the morning.

Looks like less than ideal weather for arrivals tomorrow. Hopefully the aircraft from further away can make it in early and the rest of the local aircraft can get in Friday evening or Saturday morning. The forecast looks iffy for Saturday afternoon too, but maybe it will hold off long enough to get some flying in.

19 airworthy? A little bit of a downsizing of the 30+ in US alone... lolkalamazookid wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:00 pm

Looking forward to seeing what shows up, I won't be in attendance, but always love to see photos of the gathering.
Have fun all! Best wishes the rain holds out.

Commemorative Air Force Capital Wing's TBM had to cancel because of weather. Commemorative Air Force Missouri Wing's TBM is at the Cape Girardeau airshow.

Kind of a miserable day here so far, and not many planes to be found. Hoping for better later

A fourth TBM made it in, and the planes are out of the hangar but more rain is headed this way on radar
