East Kirkby is home to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, a private museum set up to commemorate RAF Bomber Command. LAHC is most well known for their efforts to return Avro Lancaster B.Mk.VII NX611 ‘Just Jane’ to airworthy condition. Those restoration works take place in the winter and during the summer the aircraft is kept in taxying condition offering 'rides' to the general public. This is the primary source of income for the restoration works. Another icon of the RAF, de Havilland Mosquito NF.II HJ711, recently joined 'Just Jane' and is also kept in taxying condition. Each year LAHC hosts a number of events with the annual Airshow being one of the biggest. The Airshow brings together a varied mix of aircraft with a strong focus on aviation heritage but intermixed with some civilian crowd pleasers. More images and a full review can be found HERE.
