Thunder Over Michigan 2022
Just watched the Blues diamond practice from my backyard (7.5 miles away but still).
Work from home not really happening today!

Wow
I'm about 2.5 miles away and haven't been able to see much. We used to be directly in line with the old show line so you can imagine how fun that was!

Great flying, one of the best Angles practices I have ever seen, and I have seen dozens. Did a few things I never seen before, and the solo takeoff was dazzling, doubt if #6 cleared the fence by 15 ft, sent my pop up sun shelter flying though I had it staked down. Then they did a full practice around 3.
Outside of that not much in the way of flyins, saw the 135 land followed by the 2 OH F-16's, one of which beat up the field quite a bit before landing. Vampire was nice to see, and the Hurricane and that was about it. Stunned seeing a Ford Trimotor taxi by, 1st time in my life I have ever seen one of those.

Well. getting to start the few hour drive. Weather forecast was great earlier in week when made hotel reservations. Hope to find some parking spaces to watch. If anyone has psot they are at and like to say hello, let me know. I have Sat afternoon ticket, so rest of tie will be around the airport.

Corsair landed about 10 min ago.
Got all day tickets for Sunday and weather is looking a little iffy...hoping that the weather will blow over.

I just noticed Fat Albert was only on the schedule Saturday, they only flew her once at the only other Blues show I’ve been to where Bert has done a demo as well, is that normal?

Yes it’s been a common scene that Bert only flies Friday and Saturday.

Yes, they only do Saturday demos. Keep in mind they have to fly home later Sunday evening.

Bert was up in Traverse City with the Blues a couple weeks ago, but only flew practice on Friday …..nothing on the weekend, even though it was scheduled. Hard to say from day to day if it will fly.

A few from today... didn't really get to see many arrivals, but the Blue Angels put on a great show.
