What are your 2022 airshow plans?
Here's what I'm looking at:
- A week at Red Flag in Jan/Feb/Mar, possibly bookended by Yuma and Luke?
- A weeklong trip to South Dakota, ending at the Ellsworth show
- TBM Gathering in Peru
- Fort Wayne
- YAM Evening Show
- Latrobe (unlikely but possible)
- Brantford
- Battle Creek
- Selfridge OR Goshen (hate that I have to choose)
- Thunder Over Michigan
- Oshkosh
- A week in Hawaii then the Kaneohe Bay show (iffy, not sure I can handle this so soon after OSH!)
- A trip to Europe either before or after the show in Zeltweg, Austria (sadly this means no Cleveland)
- Airshow London (iffy, we'll see if I can convince a friend to come)
- Miramar (I feel like I need to make this happen before the Marines retire everything, but we'll see)
- Edwards, vacation, Chino
- Nellis
That's a lot and doesn't leave a lot of room for other trips or smaller events. Of course with Omicron who knows whether the military shows will happen at all...
I also badly want to find a way to do more military exercises and base visits, but not sure where to fit those in!

Here's my planned list for next year along with some possibilities. Of course it all depends on the situation with COVID-19.
Planned Schedule

Locks:
TBM Reunion
Spirit of St. Louis - Both days.
Janesville Warbird Weekend (assuming it's held the weekend before OSH like usual)
Oshkosh - hopefully four days instead of the usual three.
Marion Fly-In/Cruise-In - Not an airshow, but a fun little event.
Waukegan
Visiting Pima Air Museum as part of a trip in mid-September. Will likely try to do some spotting around Davis Monthan and take the boneyard tour if it's running.
Hopefuls:
Shaw AFB - Trying to get away for a four-day weekend somewhere around then and might incorporate this into my plans.
Purdue Aviation Day - It's literally four miles from where I live but it's also my birthday weekend so I'll probably be doing other things, haha.
CWH Airshow 50 at Brantford - Timing on this one is a challenge, but trying to make it work around other commitments.
Mattoon - Small show, should be fun but we'll see what else I have going on around then and whether I want to make the drive.
Tri-State Warbird Museum Flying Warbirds Showcase - The only way I will miss this is if it takes place while I'm in Arizona.
Madison Airshow - Small show in southern Indiana, date TBD at this point.
Late Fall Trip - Thinking about doing a combo of Atlanta and Monroe if they end up on the same weekend (which admittedly might be a little ambitious) or going to one of the big Texas shows like Houston or CAF Wings Over Dallas. Nellis is also a slim possibility. Trying to keep this flexible and not lock myself into a flight anywhere yet.
Selfridge and Goshen would usually be on my list but are looking unlikely due to some non-aviation traveling I am hoping to do with some friends. TOM is usually part of my plans too, but that ship has sailed for me with the drive-in format. I'm sure there will be other events that pop-up over the next several months and warrant consideration. There always seems to be a good "cornfield" show or small museum event that pops up randomly in the Midwest and is worth attending.

Think this is gonna be the intended list:
Airshows:
MCAS Yuma
TBM Gathering
Fort Wayne
Selfridge - (On the fence, waiting to see what else gets added)
Oshkosh - (Probably only 2-3 days)
Waukegan
Nellis
Other Aviation Related Outings/Events:
Might go watch bizjet traffic for the Kentucky Derby (did this in 2019 and caught some cool stuff)
Hangerstown IN Fly In
Blakesburg Antique Fly In
During the Yuma Trip, spotting at Luke AFB and a trip down to Pima
Course other stuff will probably be added, and whatever other little local events pop up as we get closer to the Spring/Summer

Welcome to the forum, shelbs2! Nice to see someone else on here who likes the antiques. The Hagerstown event is a lot of fun, just kind of hard to justify another day off right before Oshkosh for me - but maybe I'll have a mysterious migraine that day haha.

Here's my 2022 list:
May 12-16: Ellsworth AFB, SD
June 25-26: Airshow 50 - Brantford, ON (this one seems like a go for me, considering the St. Thomas show is MIA)
July 23: Milwaukee Air and Water Show - Milwaukee, WI
July 24-31: EAA Airventure - Oshkosh, WI
September 8-11: Airshow London - London, ON
October 13-19: Aerospace Valley Airshow - Edwards AFB (An extra 2-3 days after the show to check out a bit of LA)
November 2-7: Aviation Nation - Nellis AFB
Pretty extensive and large list (at least by my standards).
75th anniversary of the USAF and returning to travel after a long 2 years!

Lots of uncertainty given (a) international travel restrictions, unfortunately for paperwork reasons I'm not eligable for a vaccine booster at present (b) the fact European jet team schedules won't come out for a while, and (c) the fact I usually go where the work is, rather than where I choose. But shows I'm currently expecting to go to are:
- Mar 6-9: World Defense Show, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
- Apr 23: Flying Day (General Aviation), Duxford, UK
- May 7: Flying Day (VE Day), Duxford, UK
- May 26-29: Meeting International d'Hydravions, Biscarrosse, France
- Jun 2-4: Midlands Air Festival, Ragley Hall, UK
- Jun 12: RAF Cosford Airshow, UK
- Jun 17-18: Summer Airshow, Duxford, UK or Antidotum Airshow, Leszno, Poland
- Jun 24-25: CWHM Airshow 50, Brantford, Canada
- Jul 1-3: Scottish International Airshow, Stranraer, UK
- Jul 8-10: Flying Legends, Sywell, UK
- Jul 12-18: Royal International Air Tattoo, Fairford, UK
- Jul 30-31: Old Buckenham Airshow, UK
- Aug 27: Flying Evening, Duxford, UK
- Aug 28: Little Gransden Air & Car Show, UK
- Sep 1-3: Airpower, Zeltweg, Austria
- Sep 10-11: Air Legend Paris - Villaroche, Melun, France
- Sep 17-18: NATO Days & Czech Air Force Days, Ostrava, Czech Republic
- Oct 8: Best of 2022 Airshow, Duxford, UK
- Nov 4-5: Nellis AFB Aviation Nation, USA (TBC)
