Is there anything left for an airshow...the field looks dead. Sad what Sunday and really any day after Thursday has become up there.

I really don't know why they don't go back to a Thursday-Wednesday schedule to draw bigger crowds on the weekend.

Nice pics! Did any of those departures come around and do a pass or two or just a sling shot into the sky and left?

Thanks!

F-35C did one pass which was a left break at midfield. F-15s did a two ship loose formation pass, and the C-5 did a spiral ascent after take-off, which was super cool. Growlers were straight out.

I hate when everyone plays the one up game with how many photos they shot, but this was the first year I hit 20,000 pictures thanks to abundant sun and Dave picking up most of the filming work. I desperately need to thin them out to get my hard drive space back!

I have just returned to New Zealand after an amazing Oshkosh experience. I was in awe at the size of the show and the share volume of people, stalls, planes etc.! The people there were unbelievably friendly and nice, and I couldn’t believe how clean everything was – no litter, the toilets were always clean. For an event of that size, everything just runs so seamless! Being there for the week, I was a little disappointed by the amount of repetition in the schedule, by mid-week I was able to finish the announcers sentences. I thought there may’ve been more demonstrations by your military too, like some of the transporter aircraft/refuelers. Rather than some of the processions of smaller civilian aircraft just flying loops for 15-20 minutes, why not do a take-off and landing competition to make things interesting? I thought it may’ve been just me, but it seemed like each day there were periods where the crowd just switched off what was going on in the air. Interested to hear others thoughts though, Well done to all involved, especially all the volunteers – some of them don’t have the most glamorous of jobs and it can be pretty hot, but they always do everything with a smile on their face and were so helpful. Thank you Oshkosh!
