RAF Tutor Solo Display 2022

Positive news for the RAF Tutor Solo Display, with a pilot due to be announced soon. Late last year the RAF said the Tutor display would be dependent on making good progress with clearing the training backlog, hopefully this suggests confidence that will happen. https://twitter.com/RAFTutorDisplay/s...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2022

Military events like Cosford rely on key decisions taken higher up the command chain and therefore are not the same position as civilian organisations in charge of their own affairs to make 'announcements'. With apologies as I don't want to get involved in any tit-for-tat silliness, especially over...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2022

Good timing! Although I still say it would have been a good idea to post "our intention is to hold a show but we're still working things through and aim to confirm this ASAP" a couple of times between now and last November, if that was the case. I'm very glad the show's still on, I'll be t...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2022

I do wish Cosford (and certain other shows) would put a statement out re 2022. It's all good and well quietly announcing a date, but there have been several months of silence since then and I imagine many people are drawing their own conclusions. Any reasonable person would understand if they're sti...

Re: Covid in 2022 (New thread)

I would not read too much into what is happening right now with Omicron, International travel etc. The winter months were always going to be 'bumpy' and COVID is going no where. We are in a much better place even if things seem quite dark now. I agree the winter was always going to be bad and thing...

Re: Covid in 2022 (New thread)

I've been thinking a lot about this too. A huge amount rides on the '22 season for me, career-wise - if some big shows survive, I've got one, but if they fall, then so do I. The general mood in Europe seems to be pretty positive with expectations of a season at least as normal as the second half of ...

Re: Midlands Air Festival 2022, Ragley Hall

The organanisers are expecting over 180 conventional hot air balloons, along with a very large line up of special shape balloons. This will make MAF 2022 one of the largest hot air balloon gatherings ever held in the UK. Additionally, they will host 35 model hot air balloons, which is, again, one of...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2022

Looks like RIAT will get either the A-10 Thunderbolt II or F-35A Lightning II Demo Team. https://www.acc.af.mil/Home/Aerial-Events/Heritage-Flight/ACC-Consolidated-schedule/ Would make sense for the A-10 to give it another try, given it was due to attend last year. It just wouldn't be a RIAT USAF a...
