Re: Airshow London 2020 (Now "Sky Drive" Presented by ASL)

As a displaced Abby Airshow veteran I finally had the opportunity to compare the two shows. Albeit this one being different for several reasons. London has a massive advantage in terms of Runway proximity, and especially lighting. Wow, the runway orientation in London is perfect for photos! I'm not...

Re: Airshow London 2020 (Now "Sky Drive" Presented by ASL)

Random note from watching the activities on ADSB, the KC-10 after it's pass joined up with the inbound E-3 and refueled the E-3. The E-3 then held for quite a while before their show time. Was interesting to watch some of the movements behind the scenes. Fingers crossed for good weather for those go...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021

Erickson has become a regular participant at Abby in recent years with multiple types each year. Could be a conflict there unless there are enough pilots to support both. Let's just hope by next year this is a problem we are actually considering.

Re: Oregon International Air Show 2020

So glad that it looks the show will still be a go. I hope that the Canada/USA border will be open by September so I can travel up there. Seeing Venom would be very cool, even though it will not land at the show site. I think it is highly unlikely, based on what is happening south of the border with...

Re: Snowbirds - Operation Inspiration

Ryan, please do. I felt it was important to share. Chris This photo was taken by my mother in law this evening in front the Royal Columbian Hospital here in New Westminster, BC where every evening at 7:00 there is a salute to the health care workers. Today was a little different. Do you mind if I po...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2020 (CANCELLED)

Hardly surpringly. Still sucks. Does anyone know the dates for the 2021 show? Aug. 1 is on a Sunday so I'm not sure if that counts as the first weekend or not. My fingers are crossed for a couple of things I've heard of in the works for this year. No teasers/info though, especially this early. I'm ...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2020

I appreciate the effort to try to hold on but, let's face it, cancellation is inevitable. There is no way we will be having outdoor gatherings of 20,000 people in 4 months. I'll be happy if we're having gatherings of 100 people by then! At this point, I'm just hopeful things are back to normal by Au...

Re: Abbotsford International Airshow 2019

For those who are interested, the tentative time scheduled for the Thunderbirds practice on Friday is 10AM - 11AM. It might be wise to get there early should this be the case. Of course, times are subject to change. This confirmed? Yes, per road closure information posted on the web site. Keep in m...

Re: Patrouille Suisse Flies Over Wrong Event

I can confirm that this did indeed happen. We could see it all unfold, in the distance, from the show. Was surprised they made there way around to do the flypast at Fairchild after the "missed approach". Apparently a B 52 flew over Spokan International airport before he realized his mistake and then...
