Aero Gatineau 2018 Photo thread

I just finished my CF 18 Demo Team photo set & have them on line. I'll have a few different album sets once I plow through all the editing & invite any others who attended to add their photos or links to their albums. This is the link to the Demo Team Album https://flic.kr/s/aHsmq9NLiD

Re: What Photo/Video Gear Do You Use?

i've read that the AF is VERY good on it too, likely even better than my 7D2.

Re: Airshow Photography

I'm another Canon shooter & although this was put out by Canon it's not brand specific info & should help you understand a few of the more important yet basic principals of photography. It's an easy to understand tutorial that should help you in understanding what the different choices are for on th...

Re: ENTER NOW - AirshowStuff's Best of 2017 Photo Contest!

We had pretty nasty weather locally the day of our airshow so just to join in I'll add 2 photos from the events I shoot most weekends of the R/C season. Both aircraft are at full power making high speed passes.

Aero 150 (AKA Wings over Gatineau) announced.

Not many details yet but there will be an air show at the Gatineau Executive Airport again on Sept 15, 2018. The CF 18 Demo team is already listed as being a part of it (because it's in the area for Battle of Britain Ceremonies).

It won't be easy finding a better demo than that. That runway isn't very wide relative to the size of the planes.

Team Red Bull flying 3 1:4 scale F 104's together.

For those who fly R/C and have tried to hold a formation pass for even a few seconds this is very impressive.

Re: Canon autofocus help

From what I've seen the SL 1 should be up to the task but the 75-300 Lens is a weak link to really sharp action photos. Also you haven't mentioned shooting method. Are you relying on sport mode, Auto, or Tv? You need a fast shutter speed for jets and it's best to pick it yourself rather than letting...

Another piece of history back in the sky.

Someone posted a link to this on Facebook but I couldn't share the link so made my own message. Since then links to 2 videos have also been added. First link is the story with excellent photos. http://vintageaviationecho.com/starfighter-test-flight/ Then it's the camera ship take off & f 104 take of...

Re: Hawker Fury (RC electric with sound system). Filmed in UltraHD / 4K

Nice. Sure has a big open area to fly in. Larger than any of the club fields in my area.
