Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2022
Probably the most impactful aspect of deciding show format are the surveys sent out after the show comes to a close. The Thunder team mentioned something like 90% of people said they would attend a drive in show again (assuming the 10% are the hardcore fans). I sure hope they're not basing their de...

Re: Spirit of St Louis Air Show & STEM Expo 2022
Growlers? Wonder what Navy demo they're getting? As of now they're not on any schedule (but its definitely fluid). It's certainly possible they're not getting a Navy demo. I believe it was TOM a few years ago that they had a Legacy Flight with a Corsair and two Hornets that flew only for the Legacy...

Happy to see Greg got his plane back. I just watched a replay of this episode yesterday.

Re: History Of Flight Air Show 2022
Ehhh I would have considered Geneseo for the first time but not as a drive-in. Good they are adding individual tickets but I really wonder how that will balance with the reserved parking spots. Geneseo normally has ample "front-row" seating. This is due to the fact that the crowd can sit ...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2022
I received their "promo" e-mail this morning. They're offering $40 off a half-day ticket and $55 off a full-day ticket. $225 / show for either the morning or afternoon $395 for the full day I think the two biggest issues here are the crazy jump in ticket prices (from the traditional show f...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2022
TOM is doing the same two daily shows drive-in format as the 2021 show for this show. The morning show will feature a special "Warbird Salute" and the afternoon show will feature the Blue Angels. If you got a complimentary car pass for the 2021 show then you will get one for the 2022 show...

Re: Cleveland National Air Show 2021
The tentative schedule was posted earlier today. The morning block should be interesting with four acts over 2 hours. The remainder of the schedule looks decent and reminds me of a typical Cleveland show. Saturday/Sunday/Monday 10:00am – Noon Cleveland Aeromodeling Society – Radio Controlled Aircraf...

Re: CAF Wings Over Dallas 2021 - WWII Airshow
How is this show for photography? Do they have a decent crowd line? Looking at the satellite images of the airport it appears the primary runway runs NW to SE. The CAF hangar is located in the SE corner of the airfield so I'd assume the crowd is facing SW for the show, right?

Re: MAAM World War II Weekend 2021
I was there late Friday when Luck of the Irish arrived and developed an engine fire. It shut the field down for a time, so I left. I was not able to attend this weekend, so I'm not sure how much damage they sustained. Mark Reading PA 6-4-21 C-47 Fire Saxon.jpg Ouch! I hope it was minimal damage. Th...

Re: National Warplane Museum Airshow: The Greatest Show on Turf 2021
Given that NYS relaxed their event restrictions several weeks ago I'm not sure why they can't get their permit updated to reflect the current guidelines and host a "normal" show. I cannot justify spending $150 to drive myself into a spot behind the VIP line and miss out on the best and mos...
