This is fantastic news!EricP wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 12:22 pm Dayton Air Show organizers just announced a return to a normal show format complete with static aircraft. Sounds as though regular tickets will go on sale soon, if not already, and all drive in tickets will be refunded. Will be great to have a normal show again.

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
I'd really love to attend but $165 for half a day of flying for just me isn't worth it. I do hope some non-drive-in style shows are available for those of us that don't have a carload of aviation-minded friends.

So much of what Geneseo is involves being up close with the pilots and aircraft.

For anyone wondering about this show, MAM posted earlier this month that WOTB is being planned for later in the season. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-0/p526x296/170843450_10159125382306797_4399748983205083837_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&ccb=1-3&_nc_sid=2c4854&_nc_ohc=loVrufNzxusAX...

Maybe the GK are bringing back the Fulton surface-to-air recovery system and rather than landing they'll be scooped up by a C-130 streaking across the deck? 220px-Fulton_system2.jpg 200px-Illustration_of_Fulton_surface-to-air_recovery_system_(STARS).svg.png For those that can't pickup on my sarcasm ...

I'm sure most of those who are negative of the show are salty Americans who can't cross the border to see it. I am unfortunately stuck on the wrong side of the border but I wish ASL nothing but success and look forward to seeing photos and video from those who are able to attend!

Re: Lockheed Martin Space and Air Show 2020
Warbird budget cut?!? Crap. That's certainly disappointing, but not unexpected, I guess. I'll have to think about whether or not I'll be attending any airshows this year. I had the same reaction initially, but I'm going to attend any shows that I can (this one is a several hour flight away from me ...

Re: Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, and more - Operation America Strong Flyovers
The 171st and 193rd flyover was well attended, but today was a pretty terrible day weather wise compared to the original date last Friday and yesterday both of which were gorgeous. The KC-135 callsign STEEL62 and EC-130J callsign BATON20 flew over the downtown area at 2,500' AGL with quite a bit of ...

Re: Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, and more - Operation America Strong Flyovers
I’m not too optimistic about the Western PA flyover scheduled for Tuesday. They postponed from Friday due to a poor forecast (and it was gorgeous) and now the entire week has strong thunderstorms forecast and soaking rain.
