Re: Navy TAC Demo 2019 Status

See below. Hopefully this means we are going to see full tac demos from the Oceana team this year..I have to say the whole legacy flight only thing for this year made little sense. The complaint from Navy last year was that there was a shortage of flyable hornets and they needed them for training op...

Re: Joint-Base Andrews Open House & Airshow 2019

While I will probably attend just based on rarity of the Blues and T-Birds at the same show, I will agree that Andrews has consistently been one of the more miserable experiences I can recall at any location in the country. It all starts with the bus situation. It is fairly organized getting in from...

Re: Thunderbird #1 Relieved Of Command Suddenly

I saw the T-birds at 3 different locations in 2017 and I honestly thought it was the sharpest, tightest, and most aggressive they have been in recent memory. I even recall them doing high shows when there were a handful of clouds in the sky. Typically that is a rarity with the Thunderbird's!

Re: Cleveland National Airshow 2017 - Sept 2-4

When I watched that Legacy Flight today I was thinking the same thing Ryan. To my knowledge that is the first "official" Legacy Flight involving a hornet since the pre-sequester days. It was certainly a pleasant surprise. That view looks awesome from the top of the building, but you should...

Re: Chicago Air and Water show 2017

The performers list was just updated on the website. I am a bit skeptical of the military performers as they have the F-35 heritage flight listed along with the F-16, but neither of those teams have Chicago on their schedules. I realize maybe they could have fly-bys of those aircraft, but the F-16 f...

Re: Wings Over Pittsburgh 2017 - 05/13/2017-05/14/2017

I know things can change, but sadly it looks like this great lineup might be wasted. The forecast for Thursday through Sunday reminds me of Oceana 2009. Anyone that went to that show will know exactly what I mean. Temperature 10-15 degrees below average, rain, pockets of drizzle, and 500ft ceilings....

Re: Melbourne Air & Space Show

I was there Sunday. We arrived at the main onsite parking lot right around 10:30am and had no trouble with parking or entering the show. We began a very slow walk to the car as the Thunderbirds completed their last few maneuvers and were out of the parking lot with 10 minutes. We might've been lucky...

Re: Thunder Over the Valley Air Show 2017 (Youngstown ARS Open House & Air Show)

So I visited the website yesterday and noticed an intriguing addition to the line-up. They are now showing an F-4 Phantom listed under performers. Understanding that the last of the QF-4's were retired late last year this could only be the Collings Foundation's F-4. I did a bit more research and per...
