Re: Prop blur, what are your thoughts.

I've considered an ND filter myself but to date haven't really felt the need because I can use my polariser for a bit of the ND effect. My best advice (which I was handing out yesterday at our event where the PdF appeared). I'm pretty sure there are lots of ways people do it but I'll tell you what w...

Re: Aero 150 Airshow - April 30 - Gatineau, Quebec

It wasn't fun waiting it out but as I said to the friend that went with me if we'd have had that same day in the fall we would have thought we were freezing & given up but after enduring winter it wasn't so bad. Thankfully it looks like rain drops on the lenses didn't ruin any of the photos but ...

Re: Aero 150 Airshow - April 30 - Gatineau, Quebec

The weather didn't co operate much but most of the show performances were flown however the Patrouille de France team had to cut their routine short when the conditions (which changed rather quickly) became unsafe. It would have been nice for them to swap their schedule with the Snowbirds since we w...

Re: Aero 150 Airshow - April 30 - Gatineau, Quebec

As it stands right now 1 day is better than no event. Also having stayed up to date with the parking suggestions the fields we normally get to use are too soft so we're going to use on street parking that would already be in use by the local businesses etc. Most of those are closed for Sunday freein...

Re: Aero 150 Airshow - April 30 - Gatineau, Quebec

The most recent update for the Air Show (roughly 9:30 AM local time using Facebook) is. "There is no public access to the airfield on Saturday as we prepare for the Sunday show. In the event of rain Sunday, the show is still on - performances will be modified to suit the weather conditions."

Re: 2017 Patrouille de France Flyovers

This may be wishful thinking based on the forecast for Monday but I'm sure hoping the weather holds off for both Sunday & Monday.

Re: 2017 Vimy Flight Birth of a Nation Tour.

I copied this from the same message that told me this Tour existed. (My father was stationed there during the Lancaster era while I was a child). "Greenwood Military Aviation Museum The aircraft are already here in the Valley, and as we understand it, they will be flying locally and in PEI over...

2017 Vimy Flight Birth of a Nation Tour.

I just saw a little story about the 4 aircraft used for the Flight at Vimy recently & they will be doing a tour in Canada and a stop at Oshkosh. Info & schedule are here.

Re: Hawk 1 up for sale.

I'm sure most Canadians think it should stay in Canada but it likely has a better chance of being a regular show performer if it goes to a US buyer. You have a much longer season with a big population of people who are into air shows.
