Re: Flight Line/Crowd Line Distance Question

Seeing as I mention ZigAirMeet, I thought I'd better link to a video...

The first 10 seconds is all you need to see. This is what 40m/130ft seperation from crowd to runway looks like!

Re: Flight Line/Crowd Line Distance Question

Thoughtful responses, thank you. I had imagined Europe would be a way around the FAA rules and regulations. From what I see, military/civilian joint airfields offer the best chance in the US. I’ve seen some footage that shows that the airshow in Maine this year will be similar to Westfield, so that...

Re: Videography and copyrighted music on YouTube

I'm quite sure Ryan and I will say the same thing here: Sony FDR-AX53! AirshowStuff use it. I used to have one. Some of my airshow friends use it. It's a decade old design now, but still very popular because nobody's bested it. It's probably the ultimate compromise between zoom length, purchase pric...

Re: Videography and copyrighted music on YouTube

100% agree on turning off auto gain and avoiding shows with known overly-loud speakers. There are a couple of things I'll pick up on here with two potentially useful ideas contained within. Is it a special directional microphone? Yes but also no. Directional microphones are great but have pitfalls. ...

Re: Clacton Airshow 2024

No - for two reasons. One being that I saw the original version of that press release yesterday and came to the opinion above after having read it. And the other being that "would not be surprised" ≠ "think it is the most likely scenario" and certainly it doesn't indicate any end...

Re: Clacton Airshow 2024

Ouch - and no Typhoon either. Pure speculation on my part but I wouldn't be surprised to see Clacton becomes another victim of the Red Arrows tour and cancels altogether.

Re: RAF Red Arrows 2024

Anyone know if they will have to change their demo for the Canadian shows? When they were in the US last a few years ago they had to change some maneuvers due to the American FAA. Hopefully not. In 2019 they only performed the simplified show for tour stops in the USA. In Canada, they mostly revert...
