Re: Wings Over Northern Michigan 2019

We were in Gaylord Sunday as well and enjoyed a great show. Here are a few of the statics....unfortunately a very small lineup this year...... Growlers.jpg Growler_1.jpg A4Skyhawk_1.jpg TailhookTeam.jpg Yankees.jpg Really tried to get that last shot to work, but turned out just a hair out of focus.....

Re: Wings Over Northern Michigan 2019

Dang. Wonder why! Whatever the reason, safety is always first! Still gonna be a great show :) Maybe they looked at the weather!? Yikes. always terrible when you see a lot of hard work from volunteers get rained out. I always love this show because they do put on a great show and it's well laid out ...

Re: National Cherry Festival Air Show

Pretty strong lineup! Never been - so I assume the show is over the beach and not at an airport? That is correct. All aircraft take off from Cherry Capital Airport, but the show takes place over the south end of West Grand Traverse Bay. Show center is at Open Space Park, but people pack the beaches...

Re: National Cherry Festival Air Show

I agree this is a different type of show, but they usually line up a few good acts every year and it's all at no cost. As mentioned Friday is practice day and you can pretty much see the entire show that afternoon as well. I'll also throw out there that on Friday evening there is an open ramp at the...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder

We went down on Sunday and to sum things up......the weather was lousy, statics were alright, flying show was meh, and the new layout pretty good. Few things I didn't care for.......porta johns are all bunched up for the convenience of the cleaners, not the convenience of the crowd.......parking is ...

Re: 2018 Flyovers Thread

Was down at MIS yesterday for the race and had the pleasure of seeing four F16's out of Toledo for the National Anthem flyover. The second afterburner pass was possibly the best part of the whole race! Unfortunately I didn't have the camera with me, and of course the video I took with my phone...
