Two bits of news today.

The USAF Heritage Flight have now been officially confirmed, with an F-35A and P-51D.

Secondly, the Danish Air Force will participate in the show with an F-16 and C-130, according to Airshowinfo. F-16 is apparently for the flying display, C-130 for static.

The excellent SoloTurk F-16 has self-confirmed today. We've had them several consecutive years now so I'd been hoping they'd go all out for RAF100 and send the Turkish Stars instead, who haven't participated since 2011. Looks like we could be in for a very F-16-centric year again, with Zeus confirmed, Danish and Turkish examples self-confirmed and the Belgian display very likely too.

At least they're all very different styles. Greek F-16 has an American-style display, Danish F-16 is aggressive, Belgian F-16 is tight and flowing and SoloTurk is somewhere between the latter two. In 2016 we had four F-16s per day - and four Typhoons as well - and it was just too much. The word is that this year there will be too many aircraft to fit in the daily 7-hour flying display, so not everything will fly on every day. That should be a good opportunity to spread out the F-16 displays.

A little surprised to see the RAF Tutor solo display schedule including RIAT. Luckily it's Saturday only.

Not too pleased by today's update. The Royal Jordanian Falcons and Polish "Tiger" F-16C are flying. We had more F-16s than we needed anyway, and the Polish F-16 is probably the weakest F-16 display I've yet seen (or, at least, it was back in 2016).

Added to the static are the Polish Su-22 and NATO C-17. The Su-22 is always a nice addition, but I had hoped we'd get one flying. A much smaller than expected contribution from the Poles, especially given the Red Arrows are reportedly going to their own centenary show in Radom in August.

Polish Vipers look SO good though! I was very happy to see the SU-22s in Belgium when I went, but a jet lagged mind only recorded a fuzzy memory at this point :(

@RyanS can I just say that your April Fool's RIAT article is superb and I wish I'd thought of that! Now to enjoy the resulting fallout...

In 2016 there were a total of 15 fast jet displays. Awesome airshow. Last year lacked the oomph, but made up for it with the late addition of the SU-27 demo. I'll be interested to see how the rest of the announcements shape this year's show.
