Thunder Over Michigan 2018: 20 Years of Thunder
Wet day so far. Hunkered under umbrellas on the fence.

Super Hornet did cancel however an extra RCAF CT-155 Hawk did show up.
There were two contacts for the Hawks and one showed up without notifying the other. So, in comes a second Hawk to replace the Super Hornet. Lol!

Anybody see the F-35's today? I was walking around the ramp at 11:30ish and didn't see them.

They were towed over sometime around 12:30-1ish. We saw them being dragged over when the TBM and SB2C fired up to go out. The F-35s were on display over near the F-15s once they were towed over.alexp2805- wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 10:21 pm Anybody see the F-35's today? Rough weather today, but it was today or not at all for me and I didn't want to waste the advance ticket. Bummer that only five warbirds made it into the air for the actual airshow, but that's just the way it goes with weather sometimes. Not like they can change the show after everything has been briefed. Wish there would have been more in the air during the WWII battle (I napped after the B-17s landed). They did the best they could with the weather.
Thought it was one of the best static displays at Thunder in a long time. Great the see the F-15s and was able to go through the Willie Victor Connie. Interesting tour and a great chance to interact with the veterans who were on board and talking about their mission on the aircraft.
Hope the weather is better for those who can go tomorrow!

Here's video of the awesome but sketchtastic Kalitta 747 flyby today! I was extremely concerned that this was not going to end well but they pulled it off and I was glad to have seen it. Sorry for the horrible audio quality though

The 747 fly by was pretty cool, looked like they were a little low. I couldn't really tell because I was looking through my viewfinder. My friends around me all gasped.

Wow, that's a pretty amazing video Ryan. Must have made for very uncomfortable viewing, though.
