Sounds like a loss of control on takeoff or landing for a warbird passenger flight after the airshow. It does not sound fatal or catastrophic, but the aircraft is significantly damaged.
Hope everyone is ok!

Just a guess on my part , it kind of looks like the dragon rapide? Of course I'm speculating. Hope everyone's ok. It was offering flights to the public I believe.

An woman who attended to Abbotsford Airshow told the Courier her and her friends were waiting for traffic to subside following the end of the Abbotsford International Airshow, when the the vintage plane appeared to be attempting to take off when it suddenly nosedived and hit the ground front first.

Here's hoping no one was seriously injured.
Dan Gagnon wrote: Sun Aug 12, 2018 1:13 am How was the NORAD fly-by? I know the F-15 not showing up sucked, but it sounds like Friday had 2 x CF-18s and 2 x F-16s, which is still a good looking formation. Was it the same today? Any extra solo passes by aircraft?
Honestly the best part was the take-offs. I don't have any good shots of it yet. Single take-offs, form-up, three formation passes while they talk about Santa :P , and then they depart to "burn off fuel", formation battle break and landing. No burner passes :? .

Seeing a couple witness accounts that it lost control on takeoff.

Not sure if this is based on new information or just a generic statement, but here's the A-10 Demo Team's take:

The aircraft in question is infact the Dragon Rapide from Historic Flight Foundation. Rides were available to be purchased to be able to fly on either the TBM Avenger or on the Dragon Rapide and it seems like the people that were onboard were paying to go on an adventure of their life time that tragically went south.

Two people were airlifted and generally when that happens here it’s because the person is in serious condition. My thoughts and prayers to everyone on board the flight after the show.
