The tail of that article has this nugget: “Campers may be woken up early Monday morning by a special arrival, and there will be a surprise in Oshkosh to kick off the Wednesday afternoon air show at 2:30 p.m.,” he said. “You definitely won’t want to miss it.”

Anybody know what the surprises may be?

They mentioned in the podcast that the 7am wakeup on Monday will be the B-1 arriving for static display. They surely want to get it in before the plaza fills up more.

The remaining 'surprises' are the concert flyover Monday night, the national anthem flyover Wednesday, and the ending of the fireworks show on (I believe) Wednesday.

I just listened to the podcast. Anyone care to speculate on the Monday or Wednesday "surprise" arrivals? Just spitballing here:

Modern RAF presence for RAF 100

Could the F-82 in Minnesota also be close to ready? Info on that one has been tight for a long time. Would fit with the "two-parter" tease I guess.

One of these arrivals might be something that has already been announced, but without an announced arrival time/date. F-22s? Growler/Super Hornet flight? I have a feeling either Monday or Wednesday surprise will be one of these.

USAF Thunderbirds fly-by. They will be in Milwaukee prior to Oshkosh. Maybe they'll stop by or fly by on their way elsewhere.

I was trying to think what else could be coming as well. One that I think was mentioned when the 'year of the tanker' was first announced was the KC-46 and I haven't heard anything about that since, so a flyover by one of those on a Boeing test flight is a possibility. Sticking with the tanker theme, the Colombians have a KC767 scheduled to be at Red Flag at Nellis at around the same time and would make an interesting tanker addition. As for the surprise at the end of the fireworks, I think it will be the same wall of fire that the pyrotechnics guys typically do.

For those of us who can't attend the show, will they be livestreaming the shows each day as they did last year?

Thanks

I really like the twin tigers team so this is a neat addition for a night show on Saturday. They were already scheduled but I love the light additions!

Is anyone with access to the daily airshow schedule going to be able to post the flying schedule like last year? It was so helpful to be able to see the breakdown of when specific aircraft were flying so we could make sure we were in our seats at the right times. If not, does anyone know if the Airventure app provides the specific flight times of the airshow acts? I had no success with finding that information on the app last year.

We should be able to post it each day. It's a running joke that Dave needs to go get it
